ACTIVATE YOUR ENTRY... If you're a BECTU member working as a freelance, you may be entitled to an entry in the Crewbus, the Union's on-line directory for its freelance members. You may have received a letter from BECTU's head office inviting you to activate your entry in the Crewbus. If so, we have already entered your basic details - name and BECTU grade - in the directory. To activate your entry, you must add essential details such as a phone or fax number or an e-mail address through which you can be contacted. If you have not received a letter, but still want to add your details to the directory, you should contact BECTU head office with your request. Only paid-up freelance members of the Union who are not new entrants are eligible. If the system rejects your application and you wish to challenge this, please email the BECTU head office. If you wish to activate an entry, use the form headed Get on board ... the CREWBUS: to access your details. In the box marked 'User name' enter your surname and in the box marked 'Password' enter your membership number - as they appear on your membership card. Then click the button marked 'SUBMIT' and follow the instructions on the page to which you are directed. Make sure to add your contact details and nation/region and choose a user name and password which you will need to update your entry. Remember, you can add to or amend your details at any time once your entry is active. Once you have activated your entry by completing all the necessary details, producers and employers can access the entry by running a search on the FIND page of this site. Try itself to see how your entry appears. You may add credits, update your availability diary, or change any details in your entry from the EDIT page of the site. To access the EDIT page, you must enter the user name and password you chose when activating your entry. If you forget either of these, you will have to e-mail BECTU with your name, Union membership number and a return e-mail address. We can then retrieve the details for you. The Get on board form will cease to work once you have activated your entry, and you may wish to suppress the HELP page which greeted you when you accessed the site, once you feel confident enough to use the CREWBUS freely.
