BACK HOW TO ENTER YOUR DETAILS
If you have activated your directory entry, you may add details at any time from the EDIT page. Use the user name and password you supplied when activating your entry to access your details. Remember, these should both be between 6 and 9 characters long. The user name should be composed of letters only; the password can contain letters and numbers (eg. 'georgia'/'q7zrweki4'). Letter case is ignored.

Once your entry has been created and published, you will be able to access the EDIT screen using your user name and password and add to the entry or modify it .

If you think you should have an entry, but cannot activate it, please contact the BECTU head office with your request.

On the EDIT screen, some fields, indicated using red type, are mandatory - you must enter your surname, your region or nation, your BECTU grade, your user name and password. You must also enter your BECTU membership number for authentication purposes and at least one means of making contact with you - telephone, fax, e-mail, mobile, or the phone number of your agent or diary service. You may change these details, but do not remove them completely.

Your postal address is optional - if you do enter it, remember that anyone accessing the site can see it.

In the SPECIAL DETAILS box, tell people about yourself and your work. Include any special experience you have - for example, media you have worked in, job functions you have undertaken, and qualifications you have achieved - and key words or phrases that other people might use to look you up, e.g. "documentary", "prosthetics", "Digi-Beta".

You may also upload a file - it can be a Word document, a PDF file or any binary file using a standard format. This can be downloaded from the screen showing your details to prospective employers. Use the facility to add an extended CV or personal statement.

You can also add details of your future availability by clicking on CALENDAR from the EDIT screen and following the instructions.

You may edit your basic details on the EDIT screen or edit your credits by selecting from the list at the bottom of the screen. You cannot change your surname, however, and must contact BECTU if you need to make such a change. If you change your grade, your entry will be suspended until the BECTU office has been able to confirm the new grade.

The EDIT screen also allows you to enter and modify details of productions you have worked on, including any screen credits you have received. You can build a resumé by adding information about productions you have worked on. Just click the 'ADD NEW DETAILS' link on the form in the RESUME panel.

By the terms 'credit' or 'screen credit', we mean an on-screen credit on a broadcast TV programme, cinema film, or other commercially-distributed production.

To view changes made to the resumé, you may need to reload the page. This will not affect the rest of the form.

You may wish to use the CALENDAR feature on the EDIT page to set dates on which you will be unavailable for work. These dates can then be consulted by other visitors to this site.

When you have made all your changes, don't forget to click SUBMIT at the head or the foot of the page.

PLEASE NOTE: For legal reasons, all entries and amendments to basic details are subject to checking by BECTU and may be removed if they contravene the laws of England or contain anything defamatory or obscene or are considered to breach relevant copyright or privacy rules.
